This exhibition introduces Kazuko To, a poet who lives at National Sanatorium Oshimaseishoen.
Mr. Tou entered the school at the age of 14 and began writing poems around 1957. Since then, he has continued writing poetry for 54 years and has produced a huge number of works. In 1999, his poetry collection ``On the River of Memories'' won the Jun Takami Prize.
To find the subject matter for his poems in everyday life, he has changed the tone of his poems by being influenced by the circumstances surrounding him, such as the changes in the sanatorium and human relationships. However, his poems are always about his inner self.
In this exhibition, we will introduce poems one by one from the 19 poetry collections he has compiled to date, and trace the evolution of Tou's poetry. We will also display photographs of Mr. To and handwritten manuscripts. I hope you can feel Mr. Tou's personality expressed in the poem.
