たたかいつづけたから、今がある 全療協60年の歩みポスター

The National leprosy sanatorium Inmates (All-Japan National Hansen's Disease Sanatoria Residents' Association), a national organization made up of residents of national Leprosy sanatorium, has been in existence for 60 years since its founding in 1951. During this time, through many years of Patient exercises, we have continued to demand, Leprosy Prevention Law, turning Patient procedures into staff work, securing living expenses, improving medical care, establishing social security, and improving the facilities of sanatoriums. We have finally succeeded in abolishing Leprosy Prevention Law and forcing the government to admit responsibility in court. Now, faced with an aging population and a decline in numbers, we aim to maintain and socialize sanatoriums, which are places of life and medical care.

It is no exaggeration to say that the results of All-Japan National Hansen's Disease Sanatoria Residents' Association 's activities have shaped the history of Leprosy sanatorium since the postwar period. By looking at the history of All-Japan National Hansen's Disease Sanatoria Residents' Association, we can learn what challenges faced in each era and how they were overcome. Please take a look at All-Japan National Hansen's Disease Sanatoria Residents' Association 's 60-year history to consider how we should interact with patients, Former leprosy patients, and sanatoriums in the future.
