Movie screening "again" held

On Saturday, August 17th, from 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, The National Hansen's Disease Museum screened the movie ``Futatabi Swing Me Again'' twice for free. This heartwarming road movie depicts a former jazz trumpeter and his grandson who leave Leprosy sanatorium for the first time in 50 years and go on a journey to reunite with their friends.
Thank you very much to all the customers who came and the event was packed to capacity. We would like to introduce the opinions and impressions we received from our customers.

  • I have been visiting for more than 10 years. I would like to express my respect and gratitude for continuing the enlightenment project on Hansen's Disease in line with social movements.
  • Recently, there are many events (the content is deep) and I am looking forward to it. This movie was a timely movie with many gentle performers and a winning family trial. Please publicize it.
  • There was also a family lawsuit, and I thought it was a very good movie when considering Hansen's Disease I would like to recommend it to students at school.
  • I hope that the number of events that are connected next to each sanatorium will increase in the future. It is a place where you can face the kindness, sadness and future of each visit. Thank you very much. May it become a more common place for everyone to visit.
  • I want to think about telling the children.
  • I also want you to show a movie related to Hansen's Disease I want you to do a film festival.
  • It's great to have such an opportunity for free. I would like you to continue for future generations.
  • Watching the movie, I realized that the strength of discrimination and the power of the younger generation are important to eliminate it. May discrimination disappear with correct knowledge!
  • I also think about how to get strangers to know, but I would like you to do your best in public relations. I think it would be nice to have a place where you can eat and drink lightly.
  • Next, I would like a "sand vessel".

We would like to continue to consider planning movie screenings that many customers can participate in, so we look forward to working with you. Next week, August 25th (Sun) from 13:30 to 15:00, the third occupation series! "Lecture by Ken Sakuma: Issues related to leprosy School Sites-" will be held. We look forward to your participation.
