2015 “Hansen's Disease and Human Rights” Summer Seminar Report

The 2015 Summer Seminar on Hansen's Disease and Human Rights was held from August 19th (Wednesday) to August 20th (Thursday).
From August 19th (Wednesday) to August 20th (Thursday), the `` Hansen's Disease and Human Rights Summer Seminar'' was held with the participation of a large number of elementary and junior high school teachers and school nurses.

In the summer seminar, students learn about Issues related to leprosy in a comprehensive and systematic manner, and in order to apply it to their classes, they will be taught `` Storyteller' stories'', ``History and policy of Issues related to leprosy'', `` Medical science of leprosy'', ``Visit of the museum'', and ``Visit of Zenseien historical sites''. In addition to implementing programs such as ``How to make Issues related to leprosy a lesson,'' an elementary school teacher who has been working on human rights education through Issues related to leprosy for many years also gave a lecture.

We would like to introduce the impressions from the teachers who participated.

• At this seminar, I was very impressed to hear the live voices of Mr. Hirasawa and Mr. Sagawa. Since I was in elementary school, I had the opportunity to learn about Dowa issues at school, and when I thought about human rights, there were many things that could be connected, which made me think again. It was a fulfilling two days. Thank you very much. (Number of visits, for the first time)
• I'm glad I was able to participate with a high density of content. I was impressed that many people participated for two days. I wanted to know what kind of interest these people are interested in and what kind of practice they are doing. I hope teacher seminars will become a staple of summer. (Number of visits, 3rd time)
