On the day of the event, first of all, the world of the work of "Island in the Land" (All-Japan National Leprosaria Patients' Association Promin treatment, ablation / pregnancy, confinement room / We will introduce the themes of each work, such as heavy cell, Patient procedures, Patient exercises, objection to "salvation", participation from Okinawa, national awareness, female participation, perspective on social events, etc. I introduced the new side of the expression. As a response after the publication of "Island in the Land," many poets have traditionally focused on Leprosy sanatorium and a tanka leader) and Hansen's Disease I introduced the fact that he appeals for "criticism" and "freedom of literature" in response to his view of tanka poetry. He also pointed out the roles played by All-Japan National Leprosaria Patients' Association) and Kikuo Nakano (singer) as key persons on the editorial side. He showed the significance of this book by paving the way for tanka activities that followed and Issues related to leprosy

From the questionnaire

  • I definitely want the second one. Thanks to the themes, I felt that I could get a glimpse of the situation and thoughts of the residents at that time, even though the gardens were different. In particular, "sterilization / abortion" has become a part of human dignity, and I think it is of great significance to select and pick up six necks without looking away. I was full of hearts, thinking that my husband's worries, my wife's sadness, and the couple were holding each other.
  • I was able to understand the tendency of the recorded tanka because I was able to classify them by theme. Also, by knowing the flow of exchanges of editors and criticisms, I was able to understand the purpose of compilation and contemporary reviews, which was a great learning experience.
  • Tanka made me understand my frank feelings and social situation, and I thought it might be a good entry point for the younger generation.
  • I am very pleased that Mamoru Uchida's criticism of "Island in the Land" was argued by Ryoji Mitsuoka and others, and how powerful the life of the resident who loved literature was. I was able to know if I was able to live seriously even in my medical life. Hansen's Disease addition to the various well-known exercises and activities in the history of leprosy, I thought it was important to let the world know that there was a lot of power of such a pen.
  • By knowing the background of Tanka, I was able to feel the life Leprosy patients I was impressed by each tanka.
  • Thank you for introducing us to such a rich world.
  • The charm of the songbook was well conveyed. Personally, I was also very interested in the influence of such literature on society, or the influence of poets "outside the land". Also, this songbook is still out of print, so I strongly wanted it to be reprinted.
  • Introducing the songbook that was created based on the editorial policy of not only collecting the works of master writers but also taking anything that resonates thickly and deeply, in a way that you can experience the editing policy while touching the actual works. It was. It was easy to understand and interesting.
