Introducing the materials of "Rai Bibliography Society"
"Leprosy Catalog Society" is a commemorative project for the 50th anniversary of Nagashima-Aiseien 's 1907 (Meiji 40) "Law No. 11 Hansen's Disease Prevention", which was confirmed in 1957 (Showa 32). It covers a group of materials.
The Nagashima-Aiseien History Museum began investigating the materials collected in the Inside the sanatorium in 2005 (Heisei 17), and has been converting them into digital data and storing them at the same time. We have decided to publish a part of the material under the following restrictions.
For the release of the materials, Mr. Kunio Fujita, Director of Nagashima-Aiseien Aiseien, Mr. Kunio Hikita, and Mr. Kayono Iwabe from Hansen Volunteer Yui no Kai. It was made possible by the great efforts of Nagashima-Aiseien Resident Association, Kosei-sha Co., Ltd., Japan Science Foundation, The National Hansen's Disease Museum, and many others. We would like to thank Mr. Hikita and Mr. Iwabe for most of this work.
We hope that these materials will help illuminate the depths of the Issues related to leprosy.
