Notice of recruitment of curators

Sasakawa Health Foundation will be entrusted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare with the operation of The National Hansen's Disease Museum and other related facilities, effective April 1, 2026. Accordingly, we are recruiting curators as described below.

[1] Job type, number of people, contract period, etc.

The operation of The National Hansen's Disease Museum and other related facilities is a project commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on an annual basis, and in fiscal year 2025, our foundation was the commissioned operator.
    4. Appointment of regular staff: None
    5. Number of people to be hired: About 1 person in each garden
    6. Employment start conditions: Applicants must be able to start work between April 2026 and March 2027.
    7. Contract period: From the contract date until March 31, 2027
However, as long as the Foundation is contracted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to manage the organization, employment will generally be continued. The mandatory retirement age is 60. However, if the individual wishes, employment contracts on a yearly basis are possible, up to a maximum of 65 years of age.

Salary

[2] Aptitude test

[3] Second selection round: Individual interview (scheduled for 2-3 rounds)
Candidates who have passed the first selection and have undergone an aptitude test will be interviewed individually as the second selection after adjusting the schedule.

[3] Qualifications for application and the desired person

The qualifications for applying for this recruitment selection shall be those who meet all of the qualification requirements specified below.
    1. Those who have an academic background of university graduation or higher at the time of application
    2. Those who have curator qualifications (those who meet the eligibility requirements of each item of Article 5 of the Museum Law)
    3. Applicants must have at least three years of work experience in a museum (or a similar facility).
    4. Those who have experience in investigating, recording, and researching ancient documents, folk implements, interviews, historical buildings, archaeological sites, historic sites, etc.
    5. Those who have knowledge and awareness of issues related to Issues related to leprosy and human rights issues
    6. Those who have communication skills and cooperativeness
    7. Those who are motivated to improve their own expertise through surveys and research
