Lin Zhiming (Lin Chi Minh)Exhibition: Calligraphy and painting by Chinese Leprosy recovered persons

Shiaki Hayashi was born in 1929 to a poor farmer in southern Guangdong. Hansen's Disease at the age of eight and was in Guangdong in 1951.Dongguan(Tokan)He will be admitted to the hospital.

In 1961, at the age of 32, he recovered from his disease and returned to society, but a few years later, he was fired from his job because he was Leprosy recovered persons. After that, he had to make a living by selling his own calligraphy on the street, and it was a continuous struggle in a society with strong prejudice. In the midst of this life, he continued to write in order to widely spread awareness of the plight of Leprosy patients and Former leprosy patients, in addition to his work as a calligrapher and painter.

Lin also works for the Guangdong Provincial Former leprosy patients Support Organization, which was established in 1996.Hans(Solder)I have participated in the Kang Fu Association (HANDA) since its inception and have visited Leprosy sanatorium and Former leprosy patients villages around Guangdong Province to see the current situation. There, too, she has written newsletters and books about the realities of Leprosy patients and Former leprosy patients, and has worked to spread awareness of the situation to the public.

Hayashi says that painting is a source of solace for her and a way to leave a living testimony of her own life. This exhibition introduces 22 Chinese paintings and calligraphic works, including peonies, birds, and tigers, which Lin painted with great care to preserve proof of his own life despite the hardships he endured.

We hope that this exhibition will increase interest in China's Leprosy patients and Former leprosy patients. We look forward to seeing you at the exhibition.

Lecture “Okinawa Airakuen Facility for the disabled”

On Saturday, April 5th, the opening ribbon-cutting ceremony for the "Lin Zhiming Art Exhibition" took place at 10:30 a.m., followed by a large-scale lecture by Lin Zhiming entitled "Me and My Calligraphy and Painting Activities" at 1:30 p.m.
