Rereading Tamio Hojo Held Report

Lecturer Kiyohara Takumi Writer

We followed in the footsteps of Tamio Hojo (real name: Koji Shichijo), who is a resident of Zensei Zensei Hospital (currently Tama Zenshoen) and is known for his works such as "The First Night of Life."
On the day of the event, many literary works left by Tamio Hojo and photographs of his hometown Anan City, Tokushima Prefecture, were taken up. I pondered what happened before I died at the age of.
It's a pity that we couldn't answer all the questions you received due to time constraints, but we will talk about it in the YouTube after-talk that will be uploaded later, so please take a look.
We will continue to provide talks on the Issues related to leprosy from various perspectives, making use of the opinions received from questionnaires.

From the questionnaire

  • Most of the stories about Tamio Hojo are about literature, but today I was able to see Tamio Hojo from a broader perspective because he talked about where he grew up and compared to writers of the same age. .. Thank you very much.
  • As Mr. Kiyohara met a writer named Tamio Hojo and went back in time, I was surprised at the many accidental episodes that seemed to be a mysterious "marriage". I was drawn into all the stories and the time passed in no time. Thank you for having a very good time. I would like to read "The First Night of Life" again.
  • The exchange between Tamio Hojo and Yasunari Kawabata was known, but this time, I feel that the character has become thicker as I heard the story related to the origin. I was able to listen to Mr. Kiyohara's "personal ..." story with great interest.
  • good job for today. Thank you for the very easy-to-understand story. It was a story that made me feel the mystery of the relationship between people. And I would like to read the work again based on Mr. Hojo's "life". Thank you very much.
  • When I first saw the photo of Tamio Hojo on display at the museum, I remember being surrounded by a mysterious feeling of being connected to this person. Mr. Kiyohara, the instructor, introduced me to the "scenery (photograph) that Hojo had seen while he was alive" while having a relationship with himself, and I was able to feel very close to him. I would like to visit Tokushima Anan once. I think the online lecture was more difficult than I expected. However, this is also a new daily life, so please continue to send it in various ways. Thank you for today!
  • After hearing about Tamio Hojo from various perspectives, I felt that I would like to continue reading the work even more deeply. In particular, I didn't know much about my hometown of Tokushima, so it was very interesting to include the photos. I would like to hear more about the writer and the genealogy of Hansen's Disease literary works.
  • I listened to the story of the mysterious relationship between Mr. Kiyohara and Tamio Hojo with great interest. I thought of the scene with the various episodes and photos that Mr. Kiyohara taught me about the personal history and life of Tamio Hojo. The story of the ages that took Osamu Dazai and Seicho Matsumoto as examples was surprising and interesting. Also, the quoted part of the essay "From the holly wall" was impressive. Thank you very much for your valuable story.

… We have received many other answers. Thank you very much.
