July 31, 1998 (Heisei 10),Kikuchi Keifuen(Kikuchi Keifu Uen)With 4 residentsHoshizuka Keiaien(Hoshizu Kakei Aien)A total of 13 people, 9 residents, filed a lawsuit with the Kumamoto District Court seeking fact-finding, apology and compensation for human rights violations Hansen's Disease This is called the "Leprosy Prevention Law" unconstitutional Lawsuit Claiming Compensation from the Government ("state redress lawsuit"), and on May 11, 2001, the Kumamoto District Court ruled that the plaintiff won the case.

This gallery exhibition will showcase the struggle that has spread as a movement for all Leprosy recovered persons, with photographs and documents, centering on the process from the start of the "state redress lawsuit" to the abandonment of the national appeal. I would like to revisit the significance of the "state redress proceedings," which have great significance in resolving the Issues related to leprosy
