Mr. Toshio Inami

Toshio Inami's photo

Born in 1943 (Showa 18). Born in Okinawa Prefecture

Entered Okinawa Airakuen in 1957. After attending Hoshizuka Keiaien, in 1961 (Showa 36) he entered the Oku High School Shinryada Classroom located in Nagashima-Aiseien en. After graduating, he studied at the Central Labor Institute and came out as a student with Hansen's Disease 1969, he started working at the social welfare corporation Tokyo Colony.

1997 (Heisei 9) Won the 18th Okinawa Times Publishing Culture Award for “Hana ni Aihan”

Moved to Nagano Prefecture in 2000 (Heisei 12), and has continued to give lectures to junior high school students in the prefecture in addition to creative activities.

Established "Iha Fund" in 2003 (Heisei 15). The fund is currently renamed the NPO Kurion Niji Fund and is used as a scholarship system for medical students in the Philippines. His books include ``Summer Camellia, And'', ``Living with Hansen's Disease- What I want to tell you,'' ``Yuuna no Hana no Season,'' ``A Collection of Haiku: Searching for the Blue Sea,'' and ``Father's Sanshin and Apricot Flowers.''
