2020 “Hansen's Disease and Human Rights” Seminar Report

This year, in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, we delivered it online on The National Hansen's Disease Museum Thank you for participating in a large number of people from all over the country.

From questionnaires and opinions

  • I was encouraged by Mr. Yamauchi's positive attitude, which is not defeated by any difficulty.
  • Kimie Yamauchi 's very active way of life. I enjoyed interacting with my husband regarding marriage and leaving, and I can clearly see that he has lived a loving life while fighting.
  • It was good to hear the story of Mr. Yamauchi, who is in the facility.
  • Youtube is helpful because it is difficult to participate in rural areas. Please continue to hold it.
  • The more I get to know the facts at the seminar after visiting the museum, the more I feel that it is not the past, but it is still going on. Mr. Yamauchi's story is very easy to understand, and I feel that he was able to look ahead and walk without taking anything as a pain. He was very young, energetic and lovely. Thank you very much.
  • I got a good idea of how I usually live. You can listen to the life of your ancestors in a live voice. It became a familiar entrance to the Issues related to leprosy
  • Mr. Yamauchi was very cool and refreshing, and he was energetic! Thank you very much. Also, it was easy to access because it was not necessary to make a reservation on YouTube, and this time I saw it on the TV screen and it was very easy. I'm looking forward to seeing many other things on YouTube on the TV screen. It may be difficult to visit on that date and time, but I hope you can continue to view the archive on YouTube.
  • I have visited the museum once. It was good to hear the story of Mr. Kimie Yamauchi, the Storyteller Kimie is the same age as my father. It's very youthful and energetic and wonderful. I want more people to listen to such lectures and events.

...We have received many other responses. Thank you very much
