【講師】 Yoji Arakawa
Born in Fukui prefecture in 1949. modern poet.
His collections of poetry include "Mizueki" (26th Mr. H Award), "Toyo" (28th Takami Jun Prize), "Fukui in the Air" (51st Yomiuri Literature Prize), "Shinshin" (13th Hagiwara Sakutaro Award), "Kitayama Juhachikento" (8th Nobuo Ayukawa Award), "Forgettable Past" (20th Kodansha Essay Award), "Impressions of Bungei Jihyo" (5th Hideo Kobayashi Award) ), “People with a Past” (70th Mainichi Publishing Culture Award Book Review Award), “Poetry and Words” (Iwanami Gendai Bunko), etc.
In 2019, he received the Imperial Prize and the Japan Art Academy Award. Member of the Japan Art Academy. Lives in Higashimurayama City. On October 24, 2020, he discussed Tamio Hojo at the literary lecture "Masterpieces Related to Higashimurayama" (Higashimurayama City Central Community Center), and has a deep knowledge of Hansen's Disease literature.
In this lecture, he will talk about post-war Hansen's Disease literature, especially poetry, from the perspective of a modern poet.
