The 25th ICOM (International Council of Museums) Kyoto Convention 2019 (Venue: ICC Kyoto) was held from September 1st to 7th, 2019. The ICOM Congress is an international conference to discuss contemporary issues and new solutions facing museums around the world, and will be held for the first time in Japan. During the event, more than 3,000 people from all over the world gathered at the venue, where lectures, international committees, and booths providing the latest information were held.

The National Hansen's Disease Museum also participated in ICOM for the first time. We set up a booth at the museum fair where each country introduces the activities of their museums (co-sponsored by Sasakawa Health Foundation), and introduced Issues related to leprosy and its history in Japan to people around the world, as well as the significance of The National Hansen's Disease Museum 's establishment and activities. did.
